Dell Being Sued Because of Faulty NotebooksDell is being sued again, this time by a group of Canadian customers who claim that the notebooks they purchased from the Round Rock, TX based company are defective. In a suit filed on Friday, in the Ontario Superior Court, the plaintiffs accuse Dell of selling laptop computers that were suspect to motherboard failure and overheating problems.

This isn’t the first time that Dell has been sued for faulty products. In the U.S., Dell was sued for selling a model that overheated and had motherboard failure. Dell also has four cases pending against them.

Just last year, Dell recalled more than four million laptop batteries manufactured by Sony because the batteries overheated and were at risk to catch fire and cause injuries.

In the newest suit, the Canadian group alleges that Dell sold Inspiron models 1100, 1150, 5100, 5150, and 5160 even though they knew that the laptops were defective. The group also claims that the overheating and motherboard problems occur a little after the one-year standard warranty expires, thus making it difficult for customers with the defective laptops to get Dell to fix them for free.

According to the AP, shares of Dell fell 37 cents to $26.56 on the Nasdaq Stock Market after news broke of the lawsuit. Dell has declined to comment on the suit.
