acer ferrari 5000 reviewRecently, Computer manufacturer Acer decided to shed its image of being a second-tier player in the PC business. They hoped to do this by partnering with high-end car maker Ferrari. When they announced the partnership, they announced that a new series of Acer PCs, called the Acer Ferraris, were to be released shortly. These PCs were set to feature the Ferrari logo and racing colors, plus great speed.

Much like the Ferrari vehicles, the Acer Ferraris don’t come cheap. However, if you have a deep enough pocket, the price spent is well worth it.

One of these PCs is the Acer Ferrari 5000, a premium laptop PC. It has many great features, making it easily one of the best laptops on the market.

Best Features:

  • Turion 64 X2-Twin Processor. The 64 X2 is the latest and best processor on the market. Having such a high powered processor makes the Acer Ferrari 5000 an ultra fast laptop.
  • 160GB SATA harddrive. Lots of space for multimedia, as well as documents for business. Very flexible in this regard.
  • 15.4 inch screen with great colors. The resolution is 1,680 by 1,050. Sharp looks.
  • 2GB of memory. The Acer Ferrari is capable of running Microsoft’s new operating system, Vista, at a high level.
  • Excellent battery life. The Ferrari 5000 can go 3 hours and 21 minutes, approximately, without needing to be recharged. This allows students and business people alike to use the 5000 unplugged for a good bit of time.

Other Features:

  • Select Ferrari 5000s come with a High Definition DVD drive, allowing people to watch great quality movies on their laptop.
  • Nice keyboard. Some laptop keyboards come with keyboards that are uncomfortable, but the Ferrari 5000’s keyboard is perfect. Easy to type on.
  • 2 USB ports.
  • A LAN port for internet access(the Ferrari 5000 also comes with a wireless card built in).
  • A VGA port so that a monitor can be plugged into the laptop.
  • Built-in 1.3-megapixel webcam. It is built right into the top of the screen, making it easy for users to use a webcam on their Ferrari 5000.
  • ATI Radeon Xpress 1150, a top of the line graphic card. The graphics on the Acer Ferrari 5000 are great.
  • PC card slot for Bluetooth VoIP phone. You can charge your phone by using this slot.
  • A full set of utilities. The Acer Ferrari 5000 comes stacked with DVD and CD makers.

Pros:

  • a great processor, lots of memory and space and a ton of features.

Cons:

  • The one downside to the Acer is the price. It’s extremely expensive, and most casual notebook users won’t want to spend so much on a laptop.

Overall, the Ferrari is a great laptop. If you’re looking for a top of the line laptop that you can use to do virtually anything, this is it.
