The Apples are getting smaller
I know this may sound strange to you, especially since Apple Inc. is going uphill these days, but they are also getting smaller. Well, not the company itself, but its laptops…
Just as expected, the rumors about Apple returning to the sub-notebook computers world comes true, and we even got a date - the 11th of June (according to AppleInsider), this summer. Where is this going to happen? The Worldwide Developers Conference seems like a pretty good occasion, I am sure that you will agree with that!
While the Powerbook 2400 was too advanced, too soon, and too expensive when it arrived on the market, this time Apple seems to have learned its lesson and the new tiny MacBook is not going to feature any Star Trek technology. Anyway, expect to experience a taste of the future with this pint-size computer, because some technical details are already available…
Obviously, nothing is sure at this time, because the guys at Apple are quiet as usual, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t believe that the upcoming sub-notebook from Apple is going to be the first one with a NAND solid state flash drive instead of the traditional hard drive, allowing faster boot times and, of course, reduced power consumption, not to mention the smaller size and reliability of these devices. At last, it seems that Apple’s sub-notebook is not going to have an optical drive built-in, but we still have enough time to find out if this is going to become reality or not.
If there were still eyes looking somewhere else, than I suggest to watch Apple closer, because it seems that for Steve Jobs’ company, small things lead to big achievements, and if I say “iPod”, I don’t have to say anything else now, but in the future, we may add the name of the new tiny MacBook to the list.
