LG goes wide with the W1PRO

While everyone is running to grab the deal of the day and spare as much money as possible, LG hits the market with a laptop priced at 2,600$, so if you think this is way too much, no matter what it has, then you can skip this article. On the other hand, although I am sure I won’t afford a Lamborghini anytime soon, I always love reading about high end computers, cars and other similar things, so if you’re like me, ignore my previous advice and let’s move on…
The new generation of “heavy weight” laptops from LG, the DVB-T Notebook PC W1PRO EXPRESS DUAL, comes with a Digital Terrestrial Broadcasting TV Tuner (DVB-T) that allows high quality broadcasts on its 17 inch widescreen LCD when connected to an antenna. As you may be already expecting, it comes with Windows Vista pre-installed, and the version chosen for this laptop by LG is Home Premium.
In charge with displaying content on the 1680X1050 resolution WSXGA+ display is an ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 GPU that has 256MB of on board memory and can go up to 512MB using the HyperMemory technology.
The processors used by the W1 line are - obviously - the new Core 2 Duos from Intel, helped by an Intel 945 chipset, while the built-in wireless LAN and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity will allow you to easily get mobile Internet access.
Do I have to tell you that the W1PRO EXPRESS DUAL features Dolby Digital Sound able to project Dolby Digital Surround Sound? For its price, this shouldn’t be a surprise!
Although not light as a feather, the LG DVB-T W1PRO EXPRESS DUAL Notebook doesn’t need a truck to be carried around, having a weight of 3.1kg and a width of only 30.6mm, so if you were looking an alternative to Sony’s VAIO… LG may have something for you!
