ASUS starts using Intel Next-Gen Wireless-N Technology

asusOnce a company got to the top, staying there is the hardest part, and one of the most important things to do is keeping up with the latest technologies available. Obviously, ASUS is such a company. In less than two decades, ASUSTeK Computer Inc. became the world leading motherboard manufacturer, as well as a top producer of a wide range of products under the Asus brand, or for other corporations, including Sony, Apple or Alienware.

Now, we just found out that ASUS incorporated latest Intel wireless technology into its S6Fm, V1Jp, VX2, W2P and W6Fp notebook models. The new connection technology, called Intel Next-Gen Wireless-N, is an upgrade to the current wireless components available inside the Intel Centrino Duo mobile technology, and its goal is to help users connect with increased efficiency to wireless networks.

There are two aspects to be noted about the Wireless-N technology - first, the enhanced wireless performance and reliability, and second, the improved bandwidth sharing and faster multimedia downloads.

According to Intel officials, the performance of this new technology is, at least in theory, five times better than before, while the wireless range is doubled. Even better, “Users can download and stream HD video, music and data while providing up to an extra hour of notebook battery life when compared to existing Draft-N products.”!

At last, the bandwidth sharing features will reduce “dead spots” in wireless coverage, especially when the same network is accessed simultaneously by more people. This way, everyone can enjoy optimized high-definition entertainment experiences, such as streaming HD movies, leaving the old wireless-related problems behind.
