World’s first D-Door design comes from Asus

Mar 16 2007 | Asus, New releases

asusUpgrading a notebook is much harder for those with basic hardware knowledge and having only a screwdriver as tool, but that’s doesn’t mean things are going to remain like this forever! Asus is just about to release its ASmobile C90S barebone notebook, a product that features world’s first D-Door design.

The D-Door design allows you to upgrade main system components quick and easy, so from now on you don’t have to pay expensive professional services for changing your CPU, graphics card, memory or storage devices!

With a weight of almost 7 pounds, the Asus C90S has a design based on the IMR (In-mold Roller) high gloss finish technology and comes with a 15.4 inch widescreen display, being able to hold processors up to Intel Core 2 Duo E6800 Conroe.

Even better, the MXM graphic card module allows you to easily upgrade your video card to keep up with the games and applications that you’re using, giving more meaning to the expression “desktop replacement”.

Additional features include HD DVD, Blu-Ray and HDMI support, as well as an e-SATA connector that’s six times faster than the USB 2.0 standard. Other goodies include 802.11n support, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR and a built-in 2MP camera.

At this time, there’s no information available on pricing, but you can watch the Asus ASmobile C90S at the CeBIT show in Hannover until the 21st of March.
